
Borneo is home to an amazing diversity of wildlife and plants. The rain forests are amongst the oldest on earth. We strongly recommend Northern Borneo to wildlife enthusiasts in one short week guest can witness, turtles nesting on sandy beaches, spot Wild Orangutans in the rainforest and visit the world renowned Sepilok sanctuary, Witness millions of Bats and swifts in the vast systems, explore the jungles on guided walks and by boat and even at night with the aid of spotlights. Mulu National Park
Day 1 Kota Kinabalu / Mulu National Park
Morning, pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport to board flight to Mulu National Park. Upon arrival, transfer and check in Royal Mulu Resort. Afternoon, depart for a three KM plankwalk to Deer Cave and Lang Cave. En route visit the canopy skyway. See the rainforest and wildlife 100 feet below you. Late afternoon, observe the millions of bats coming out from the vast mouth of the Deer Cave which will be a memorable occurrence during fine weather. Return to Resort. Afternoon, free at leisure and overnight Resort. (Lunch/Dinner included)
Day 2 Mulu National Park
Depart by a long boat going up river to Wind Cave via Penan settlement. Explore the limestone formation of this unique eco system. Continue the journey by plankwalk to Clearwater Cave where more interesting stone formation can be seen. Rajah Brooke butterflies can be seen hovering at the river and entrance of the caves. Return to and overnight resort. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Day 3 Mulu National Park / Kota Kinabalu
Transfer to Mulu airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. (Breakfast included)
What to bring : Raincoat, sun block lotion, drinking water, hat, insect repellent, torch, toiletries, towel and other items of personal use. Use good walking shoes. Comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pant recommended.
DANUM VALLEY
Day 1 Lahad Datu / Danum Valley
Morning, pick up from Lahad Datu and drive to Danum Valley. Trek in the oldest remaining rainforest in the world. Experience an exciting suspension walkway to see wildlife. In the evening, experience night drive in an open jeep with a spotlight in search of wildlife. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. (Lunch/Dinner included).
Day 2 Danum Valley
Nature Walks with experienced naturalists through undisturbed riverine and lowland dipterocarp forest. A good chance to photograph wildlife in this pristine jungle vegetation and unlimited bird watching of rainforest species. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included).
Day 3 Danum Valley / Lahad Datu
Morning bird walk and following by more nature trails before transfer to Lahad Datu. (Breakfast included).
Within a week and with good planning! You can see orang-utan being fed in the forest, sea turtles coming on the shore to lay their eggs, unique proboscis monkeys in there mangrove home, thousands of swifts and bats in vast limestone caves, the highest mountain in South East Asia with its collection of native orchids and rhododendrons and appreciate the tropical rainforest from a canopy walkway. You will be traveling by air, road, boat and canoe and through undisturbed lowland, montane, and mangrove rainforest, tropical wilderness, wildlife sanctuary, deserted islands, limestone caves, winding rivers and lakes.
