 The Okavango Delta, the big game Kwando River concession, Nxai Pan and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve - the highlights of Botswana in one seamless adventure.

The aim of this 5 Rivers Safari is to offer our guests the chance to tailor a safari in Botswana to suit your expectations or you can ask one of us to suggest an itinerary (see below) to provide the very best that this remarkable region has to offer. in more than a million acres of this wilderness exclusively for enjoyment of our guests – shared over 6 camps in the permanent water of the Delta itself and the larger Kwando concession in the far north famous for its large elephant herds and predator sightings and also in Nxai Pan National Park and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (Tau Pan). In addition we also use some of the smaller privately owned camps in Botswana at one discounted rate. A full and extraordinary range of places, people and activities that will complete an unforgettable safari. We have achieved the perfect balance of wildlife, culture and adventure. Experienced and friendly staff will be there to guide and assist you every step of the way, from the moment you step off your international flight. Throughout the spirit of Africa and its people will touch you. It might be a herd of elephant crossing a river, a relaxing Gin & Tonic as the sun sets over the bush or a simple handshake and a smile from a village elder. Somewhere along the way, you will experience something uniquely African, leaving an indelible print on your memory.
On being met by Kwando staff, and processed straight through to the waiting light air craft to take you to your first camp and the start of the Safari. You are entering one of the last great wilderness areas on earth. Northern Botswana is recognized as one of the prime game viewing areas in all Africa. This huge unspoiled region extends from the beautiful Okavango Delta, north to the game rich Kwando region and eastward to Savuti and Chobe National Park.

Example Itinerary:

Fly to Tau Pan for 3 nights. Explore on game drives and on walks with San bushmen who will explain and entertain you by answering all your questions from birth to marriage to bush survival. ***Please note that Tau Pan is in a national park and an ecological sensitive area – for this reason we can not drive off road or at night! Situated on an established sand ridge overlooking Tau Pan – has stunning views of the permanent Tau Pan water hole and the endless Kalahari horizon. This is one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana at this time of year and not many people to seem too aware of this – so the visitors are few. The CKGR holds animals such springbok, gemsbok and wildebeest in their thousands and is quite a sight to behold. Predators abound with plentiful Lions – especially the famous Kalahari black-maned Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and Jackals. Brown Hyenas and Wild Dogs are also found in the area. Honey Badgers are regular visitors as well as Ground Squirrels and Meerkats and many an hour can be wiled away watching these fascinating animals. Guests are accommodated in 8 custom-built desert rooms under thatch, while the main area consists of dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. The camp will also offer facilities such as swimming pool, interpretation centre.
Flight to Xakanaxa in the heart of the Moremi for 2 Nights.Its prime location on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve ensures that it is one of the only safari camps which can provide guests with an authentic year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience. Big game, big birds, big water – Xakanaxa Camp in one of Africa’s most beautiful game reserves, offering sanctuary to abundant herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, Lechwe, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, sable antelope and much, much more. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena complete the picture.
Boat transfer across Moremi to Kwara for 3 nights on the northern edge of the Delta Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve.
Along with the bird watching, we're able to offer fishing (spinner fishing, but please feel free to bring your own equipment should you want to fly fish), walks with a guide on one of the many palm-fringed islands and also spectacular night drives on top of our morning and afternoon drives. The beauty and charm of Kwara will captivate you.
The Kwara area is also home to a variety of wild animals including, lechwe, Sitatunga, reedbuck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and Tsessebe. Lion, hyaena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are abundant in this part of the Delta and regularly seen.
Flight to Lebala camp, 2 nights. This wild expanse is contrasted with luxury of the camp itself. Lebala Camp is situated in the Linyanti open grasslands scattered with Illala Palms the eight spacious tents are on a raised teak deck, laid out with maximum comfort and privacy in mind. en-suite bathrooms with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs, "his and hers" washbasins. The flood plains around Lebala offer a wonderful variety of wildlife with excellent sightings and after dark, spotlights are switched on and the game drives expose nocturnal sightings of rare and elusive species such as, leopard, Selous Mongoose, small spotted genet, and aardwolf, to name a few.

Flight to the boarder post and a drive to Livingstone
(Zambia) to complete your safari with 2 days relaxing and enjoying a selection of activities and great meals at the Stanley Safari Lodge Set on a hill bordering the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and overlooking unspoilt bush, Stanley Safari Lodge is only 3km from the Victoria Falls. The views are splendid: the spray of the Falls in the distance, the mighty Zambezi river and on top of that yet another beautiful African sunset. From either our main garden, our infinity pool or from the privacy of your room, views are unmatched. Activities at the Stanleys for a 2-night stay include a tour of the Falls, a visit to the museum; the village and a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi. There are many more activities available in the area, which you can arrange locally., Lebala means wide-open spaces in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree clumps backed by wooded savannas. As the custodians of one of Botswana’s very first safari camps the owners of Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) have gone to extraordinary lengths to preserve its original African bush camp character whilst providing guests with every comfort.
