Lewa Safari Camp sits on a hillside in the very heart of Lewa amongst Rhinos and Zebra and so much more, with wonderful views across thousands of acres of classic African bush, toward Mt Kenya and the Mathews range. The first impression I had of Lewa Safari Camp was the profusion of bird life in the bushes and Yellow barked Acacia trees. There is a focus on educating and information . A stay at Lewa safari is a wonderfully relaxing first class holiday experience, which can be as active as you wish. The staff are very proud of the camp and the conservancy and this is reflected in the happy and enthusiastic way they look after their guests.
Accommodation is in spacious and very well appointed safari tents under reed thatched roofs, with en suite shower rooms . The tents are tastefully presented in traditional safari style with colorful fabrics on cosy beds and simple wooden furniture and canvas chairs. Each tent is set away from each other and has its own verandah. Dinner is taken in the charming open sided main lodge mess, breakfast and lunch are eaten here, of if preferred, on the lawns around the pool in the shade of a tree around camp. There is also a comfortable colonial style lounge with arm chairs and big cushions on which to relax after a full day of game watching.
