This privately guided safari focuses exclusively on the magnificent Mana Pools National Park which has world heritage status for good reason, and will take you to some of the rarely visited areas of this game rich and very wild National Park fully guided by Zimbabwean Professional Guide.- Doug Macdonald. Wildlife abounds in Mana, famed for Elephant and Lion there is also a good chance of seeing wild dog and on foot there is no better experience. Rare Sable antelope and others antelope of the same family are often seen. the rivers and pools resonate to the sound of honking Hippos and the sound of Leopard calling at night  through the canvas walls of your tent is a magical experience.

Day 1 On arrival in Harare you will be met by Doug and transferred to your hotel, within the hotel there is a popular restaurant and beautiful gardens for you to relax and unwind before starting off on your safari the following day.

Day 2 – Day 5 You will be transferred back to Harare Airport to catch a scheduled flight to Lake Kariba. On arrival in Mana Pools our hosts  will transfer us by road to Chitake Springs through the National Park. Chitake Springs is situated away from the Zambezi River near the Zambezi Valley Escarpment. This area is one of the few areas of permanent water in a very large area so there is a constant flow of animals including huge herds of buffalo, in and out of the water all through the day and night, this of course attracts the predators which are resident at these springs often making a stay here quite action packed. By and large all the game viewing we do at this camp is either seated in the camp area overlooking the water or on foot in the vicinity of water.

The camp itself is a mobile safari camp which is tented and will be set up on the banks of the Chitake River overlooking the springs, and offers all the basic amenities including shower and toilet en suite and always a cold drink and an amazing meal to slate your thirst and hunger in this incredible location. We will spend three nights here.

Day 5 – 8 From here we leave from Chitake Springs and drive further into the National Park and down to the Zambezi River and its flood plain in a safari vehicle. Here there is a huge density and variety of wildlife in a magnificent setting, this park is often rated by those that know as one of Africa’s finest National Parks, with superb opportunities and areas for walking and this is undoubtedly one of the more special safari experiences that you can have. Your camp will be set up on the banks of the Zambezi River in one of the prime game viewing areas of the park and will be of the same style as we used in Chitake Springs.

From the camp we will be able to do a variety of activities including walking, game drives, fishing and canoeing

Day 8 – 10 On this day we move downstream staying within Mana Pools but moving into the Nyamatusi wilderness area until we reach the boundary of the National Park and Chikwenya Camp which is in a private concession area. These areas are truly remote and little explored so you will have a unique experience as we travel to Chikwenya on foot and by vehicle. Once at Chikwenya you will be able to relax and unwind in this luxury camp by the swimming pool or perhaps having a cold sundowner while cruising on the Zambezi River with fishing rod in hand.

Day 10 You will catch a private charter plane back to Harare for your onward connections.
