This safari focuses exclusively on this magnificent world heritage status Mana Pools National Park and will take you to the rarely seen areas of this National Park guided by a highly experienced Zimbabwean Professional Guide.
Day 1 On arrival in Harare you will be transferred to your hotel, within the hotel there is a popular restaurant and beautiful gardens for you to relax and unwind before starting off on your safari the following day.
Day 2 – Day 5 You will be transferred back to Harare Airport to catch a scheduled flight to Lake Kariba. From here you will be met by your hosts who will transfer you by road to Chitake Springs. Chitake Springs is situated in a remote area away from the Zambezi River, near the Zambezi Valley Escarpment. This area is one of the few areas of permanent water in a very large area so there is a constant flow of animals including huge herds of buffalo, in and out of the water all through the day and night, this of course attracts the predators which are resident at these springs often making a stay here quite action packed. By and large all the game viewing we do at this camp is either seated in the camp area overlooking the water or on foot in the vicinity of water.
The camp itself is a mobile safari camp that is tented and will be set up on the banks of the Chitake River overlooking the springs, and offers all the basic amenities including shower and toilet en suite and always a cold drink and an amazing meal to slate your thirst and hunger in this incredible location. We will spend three nights here.
Day 5 – 9 You leave from Chitake Springs and drive further into the National Park and down to the Zambezi River and its flood plain in a safari vehicle. Here there is a huge density and variety of wildlife in a magnificent setting, this park is often rated by those that know, as one of Africa’s finest National Parks, with superb opportunities and areas for walking this is undoubtedly one of the more special safari experiences that you can have. Your camp will be set up on the banks of the Zambezi River in one of the prime game viewing areas of the park and will be of the same style as was used in Chitake Springs.
From the camp you will be able to do a variety of activities including walking, game drives, fishing and canoeing and will be led by a fully qualified professional guide.
Day 9 You will drive back across the National Park and up the Zambezi escarpment to Lake Kariba to catch your flight back to Harare.
Notes :
You could start or finish the trip with a stay in Matusadona National Park staying at Rhino Camp or on a houseboat which is a great way to relax an unwind on this beautiful lake before heading home.
The other option would be to add in Hwange National Park and take in the extraordinary volume of wildlife and especially elephants. From here you could then finish at the spectacular Victoria Falls.
