Tanzania safaris are some how always dramatic and Serengeti combined with Katavi National Park – two incredible wildlife destinations which, combined, offer possibly the best big game viewing experience in Africa. Serengeti Safari Camp and Chada Katavi Camp are both classic safari camps, exceptionally comfortable but without detracting from the wilderness experience. This is a true wilderness safari where you are going to see few  other visitors. Wild?  Yes, Camping?  Yes, luxury which harks to a time passed ? Yes.

You will spend 3 Nights at each camp starting at Serengeti Safari camp.

This safari gives a great blend of these two key areas and uses really wonderful camps which boast superb guides.
Though the Serengeti park boundaries officially define the Serengeti, the ecosystem goes way beyond these limits, we call this the Greater Serengeti. It’s a giant picture of masses of animals, contrasting land forms, and tribal peoples. Serengeti Safari camp is semi-nomadic - it won’t move whilst you’re there - but it’s actually on a wide orbit shadowing the migration; so you, your Tanzanian driver-guide and private 4WD vehicle are as close to a million wildebeest as possible. While you can head off from dawn till dusk on your own adventures, the small wandering camp is sociable because its shared - with guests staying in classic bush style. Each luxury bedtent sits alone on a beautiful patch of Africa, a stroll away from the candlelit canvas mess for safari bonhomie The bathrooms are en-suite, with traditional safari style bucket showers, short drop toilets, and hot and cold water available on demand.  All you have to do is arrive in camp at the end of every dramatic day - tired, wired, and dusty - to hot showers, ice filled gin & tonics, and a roaring campfire. The days end with dinner, stars and a bed tent furnished with all a great adventurer could wish for.

Katavi National Park is one of the greatest wildlife experiences of Africa. Miles from anywhere, it has an almost mythical status and, it’s thought, a greater density of mammals than any other Tanzanian reserve . Massed on the plains are the last great herds of buffalo in East Africa, up to 1000 head. Rivers groan with hippopotamus, and crocodile. Almost everywhere you look there’s something grazing, bellowing, fighting, mating, hunting.  Chada Katavi Camp is  within a canopy of tall trees which are a great source of shade and food for a variety of animal and bird life and this often means seeing great game without having to leave your veranda.Although a bush camp it is very civilised. Come dinnertime, the mess is nothing short of splendid, silverware gleaming and glasses shining in the lamplight. Hidden in the trees that flank it are six guest tents with fine wooden furniture, woven rugs and beds spread with crisp white Egyptian cottons. The tents are large, romantic and airy, the bathrooms bush-deluxe. The thoroughly good white wine sitting on your porch table is perfectly chilled. You will enjoy Game drives in open 4WD vehicles, fly camping under the stars, outstanding birding,  walking safaris.
