Namibia Rhino Safari

For more than 20 years, the Save the Rhino Trust (SRT) has worked ceaselessly to protect the last free-ranging rhino population on Earth: the rare desert-adapted black rhino. In the remote, rugged Palmwag Concession, teams of local trackers use camel trains to help in researching and monitoring this animal. On this original and exciting Exploration, guests join these "ships of the desert" on a great adventure: an eight-day walk (little time is spent actually on the camels) across the oldest desert in the world, where a camel train and a team of Save the Rhino trackers take you deep into the heart of the Namib Desert in search of this rare and endangered species. Another wonderful sight is that of the unique desert-adapted elephant - both these iconic animals are tracked in some of the most remote and inaccessible regions of the Concession. Green Season Birding

The green season months are the most exciting for birding in Zambia. All of the migrants are present and many local birds are in full breeding plumage and singing. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded in South Luangwa National Park and some of the highlights include Western Banded Snake Eagle, Lilian's Lovebird, Collared Palm Thrush and the stunning Fire-crowned Bishop in its summer finery.

Kasanka - Fruit Bats & Birds

Some ten million bats foraging in the Kasanka fruit trees. Every year at the end of October 'Straw-Coloured Fruit Bats' congregate in the trees of the Mushitu swamp forest near the confluence of the Musola and Kasanka rivers in Kasanka National Park. The bats come to feed for a short six weeks on the abundance of seasonal fruit including wild loquat and waterberries. To see millions of bats dispersing at dusk against the setting sun is one of the wildlife wonders of Africa, and one that definitely shouldn’t be missed.

Iberian Lynx in Andalucia

This Natural Park currently holds around 70% of the world population of Iberian Lynx.
