TSIKA CANOE TRAIL A safari which combines the adventure of a canoe safari in the Zambezi with a classic safari staying at a small selection of great camps including the rustic Tsika island camp the very comfortable Chongwe river lodge and Sausage tree camp, one of the best known classic camps in the Valley. With the promise of exciting wildlife and peace to enjoy the bush as you paddle gently along the banks of the game rich Lower Zambezi . This safari is an excellent short break safari which can be combined with a longer safari in the Zambezi or the Luangwa, Kafue, Victoria Falls or beyond.
DAY 1. Transfer from Lusaka.
Schedule flight to RoyalZambezi airstrip with a short game drive and boat transfer
to Tsika Island Camp (approx 1 hour). Or by road toLower Zambezi and boat transfer to Tsika Island (Min 4 &approx 3 hrs). Lunch on Tsika Island, followed by (siesta) an afternoon or early evening visit to the Chiawa Community Cultural Village and surrounding Villages. Overnight at Tsika Island Camp. DAY 2. Canoe from Tsika Island to Chongwe River Camp or Chongwe River House. Full day canoeing
(approx 35km)with picnic lunch set up on an Island.
DAY 3. Full day at leisure at Chongwe accommodation with usual choice of activities. Includes game drives/night
drives/cruises/fishing/walking safaris.
DAY 4. Canoe from Chongwe to Sausage Tree Camp including a real highlight - the picturesque Nkalange Channel (approx 30km).
DAY 5. Full day at leisure at Sausage Tree accommodation with usual choice of activities. Includes game drives/night drives/cruises/fishing/walking safaris.
DAY 6. Canoe from Sausage Tree through the game rich Chifungulu Channel. Picnic lunch, afternoon canoe and then evening game drive back to Sausage Tree Camp.
DAY 7. Transfer to Jeki airstrip for flight to Lusaka and any onward travel.
