This Type of safari can work all year, but best in June /July or Sept / Oct to take advantage of the migration being in the north.

This is why our Tanzania guides (all Tanzanians) are well trained, each having over 10 years of experience in guiding safaris. They are highly knowledgeable of the flora and fauna, culture, and have a passion for the people and wildlife of Tanzania. The blend of camps in the Serengeti ecosystem which also visits Ngorongoro.  
You can take this itinerary exactly as we suggest or we can adjust it to better fit with your plans.

Day 01: River trees Country Inn

On arrival at Kilimanjaro you will be met  (Please look for the board with your name on it), and transfer to River trees Country Inn for dinner and overnight. This is a chance to relax after your flight, if you arrive early and want to go straight off on safari we can miss the lodge and add a day on safari, (will be a cost difference).

Day 02: Arusha – North Serengeti (Flight):

After late breakfast you will be transferred to Arusha Airport for the flight to North Serengeti at 13.00hrs. On arrival at Kogatende Airstrip at 15.05hrs you will be met by your guide and set off, game viewing en-route, to Lemala Mara Tented Camp for dinner and your first night in the bush.

The Park: The vast and sensational Serengeti is the epitome of most people's dreams about wild Africa; its endless rolling plains perfectly honour the meaning of its name in the Maasai language: Serengeti or Siringitu is the place where the land moves on forever. Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. It is a natural paradise and home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth – the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. It is also to elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. During your stay in Serengeti, you will be able to do lots game viewing each day and have flexibility of your own vehicle.

Day 03: North Serengeti:

A full day game viewing in north Serengeti. May be in search for animals that you did not see yesterday or simply enjoying the incredible wildlife as it happens.

In the evening return for dinner and overnight at Lemala Mara Tented Camp. There is an option to have your picnic lunch and spend the whole day in the park but also you may start early morning then come back for lunch. Relax then start again till evening as you wish. Your guide will also be advising you depending on the game in different locations. 

Day 04: North - Central Serengeti:

After breakfast drive to central Serengeti, game viewing en-route. Dinner and overnight at
Ang’ata Central Camp. Having settled in you can venture out again or relax in camp and absorb your surroundings.

Day 05: Central Serengeti:

Another full day exploring the Serengeti from Ang’ata camp. Game viewing in central Serengeti area. A game rich area with good numbers of predators amongst the plains game. June - August is a good time to see the Migration moving North. Your guide will be advising you on game movements to help you get the most from your safari.  

Day 06: Serengeti – Ngorongoro: (start at 08.00hrs, 150kms, 3hrs)

Morning game viewing in Serengeti later drive to Ngorongoro, game viewing en-route.
Arrive for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Overlooking the crater. An evening to relax.

Day 07: Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu (~50kms, 1hr):

After early breakfast drive and descend to the Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a true remaining natural wonder, arguably the most unique ecosystem on earth. It is home to over 20,000 large grazing animals, boasting the largest concentration of predators found on the planet. Ngorongoro crater is the largest of 9 volcanoes in this conservation area, Oldonyo Lengai being the only one still active. The conservation area is 8300 km square with the crater itself having an average diameter of 23 km. The crater covers an area of 250 km square and has an average depth of 600m. There are many activities available from the surrounding area which enhances knowledge historically, geographically and culturally. After a a days exploring the crater you will ascend and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House. 

Day 08: Karatu – Arusha - JRO: (~4hrs)

Transfer to JRO for your onward flight. If you flight is at evening you can arrange for cultural tour in Karatu or local lunch in Arusha to learn the African life . (Or consider spending an extra day on safari and going straight to the airport).
