The Lower Zambezi is renowned for it's excellent fishing particularly for the world's premiere game fish, the Tiger Fish, which can grow to 15kg and the Vundu, giant catfish that can grow well over 50kg! We have put this fishing safari together in such a away that you can spend your whole time fishing or choose to take advantage of the fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities in this one of Africa’s most prolific big game areas, and if some of your family/ group would lie to sit by the pool or take a game drive / walk or canoe safari whilst you fish well that’s ok to and camp will make sure you all get the most from your safari.

We offer two options to a stay at Kasaka small groups of between 4 & 6 may choose to stay in the Private Hippo Pod house or smaller groups (or individuals) can stay in the Luxury Tented safari chalets, (details of both follow below).

The guides we use have many years of invaluable experience and will take you to all the best fishing spots and guide you through the whole process. You will have the sole use of a choice of fantastic fishing boats (generally flat hulled) for the whole day every day if you wish. Whether you are a complete beginner or a professional angler we can guarantee you that catching one of these mighty fish is an experience you will never forget!
The best time of year to catch Tiger Fish is September through to November. Please note that fishing for Tiger Fish is on a strictly catch and release basis to conform to local wildlife regulations. Other species of interest are the Three Spot Bream, Red Breasted Bream, Nile Bream, Chessa, Nkupi, Bottlenose and the Cornish Jack.

Fishing Equipment: Camp will supply basic fishing equipment i.e., rods, reels, hocks etc which is more than enough for good fishing, however, we do not supply lures or artificial bates and we would recommend bringing your own kit most keen fisherman do!
If you would like to chat about what to bring just get in touch before your trip and we can always make a few suggestions and even get an up to date email from camp on what is currently working best! 2009 has seen some great fish Tigers and monster Vundu.
